Here's the info you want.
- tons of new stages now. Lots of remade stages from VF2. If you want to know, yes, Shun's stage is back, but no bridge. There's also Jeffry's stage from VF2 remade. All of the stages look fucking AMAZING. One stage in particular is in a jungle setting (I have no idea whose stage it is), but it's surrounded by trees in the foreground, and in the background you can see giant waterfalls surrounding the area (think FFX's FMV sequences but without the spirits floating around). Other stages include a snowy mountain, an excavation site (complete with muddy water that ripples according to the character's movements), and a night time city. Anyone who dares compares VF's stages to DOA is going to be shocked. the difference is literally night and day.
- Eileen (new monkey girl) was playable but she wasn't complete. She has a lot of special movements using P+K+G and certain directions. u/b+P+K+G does a backflip, b+P+K+G does a spin back, f+P+K+G does a hop forward (like a monkey, natch). Her moves are pretty fluid but I couldn't do any of the really cool moves that I saw the CPU do.
- There's a new machine called VF Terminal, which is basically VF.net in the arcade. You still need a VF.net account, but instead of using your cellphone, you can now use the terminal to customize everything. You put in 100 yen ($1) and you get about 300 "points" (or seconds) to do everything you want. Pretty good deal, but I'm guessing you'll want to wait till you can customize a lot before using the terminal.
- As for the gameplay, from the previous location test it hasn't changed much save for the movement system. The new sways used to be u/f_d/f+P+K+G, but now they're just a double tap up or down. The old evade is still like VF (tap up or down once) but now doing a double tap will make you go further. It's pretty intuitive now.
- Someone I know was complaining that a lot of characters (Aoi, Jeffry, Wolf, Vanessa) are now buffed because of the slower throws. Basically, moves that were throw-counterable in VF4 aren't anymore because throws are slower, so these characters have gotten their moves powered up a lot.
