Not just NBC and the Golden Globes, but I'm told also ABC and the Academy Awards are both looking at the feasibility of delaying their respective telecasts until after the WGA strike is settled so there would be no picket lines. But to make this plan work, both networks and awards organizations would have to look into a crystal ball and predict a possible strike settlement within the next few months or at least within 2008 (something nobody can predict right now). And then there's the huge logistical and costly nightmare of pushing back the airdates. Stay tuned.

المشكله يقولون لما تخلص الأزمة , شدراكم متى تخلص ؟ يمكن يجي أوسكار 2009 و هم ما خلصوا و شالحل ؟
اذا تأجيل بس مو مشكلة , نراعي الظروف , ياما مهرجانات تأجلت بسبب ظروف خارجه عن سيطرتها ( الايمي و 11 سبتمبر كمثال ) , و الكتاب بالنهاية يستحقون الي يصير عشانهم , يستاهلون حقوقهم , و انا شخصيا أدعم حملتهم .

الفيلم المفروض يعرض في فبراير القادم , لكن المنتجين نزلوه بسينمات محددة في أمريكا مدة أسبوع واحد منهم ال Fantastic Fest بس علشان يعتبر من أفلام 2007 و يدخل في سباق الترشيحات .
أما لو تأجل الحفل , الكل بيشوف الفيلم و بياخذ حقه في الترشيحات و الجوائز , و هذا يعتبر بووست له في الجوائز .

The Golden Globe ceremony scheduled for Sunday has already been scrapped, and will be replaced by a news conference few stars are likely to attend. The People's Choice Awards were also scaled back and subsequently bombed in the television ratings.
Now all eyes are on the Academy Awards, the movie world's biggest night, which are due to take place on Feb. 24.
"The show must go on, that is one of the tenets of everything," Hanks told Reuters in London.
"I am a member of the board of governors of the Academy, and we definitely want to put on a great show and honour the films that have come out in the course of the year," he said on the red carpet at the premiere of his film "Charlie Wilson's War."
Hanks said corporate bosses should remember that many people, from carpenters to caterers, were suffering as a result of the strike by about 10,500 Writers Guild of America members over their dispute with major film and TV studios.
"There are caterers and carpenters ... and electricians and gaffers," the 51-year-old said. "There are a lot of people out there associated with the industry, for whom the sooner this work stoppage is over the better.
"I just hope that the big guys who make big decisions up high in their corporate boardrooms and what not get down to honest bargaining and everyone can get back to work."
The star of box office hits "Forrest Gump" and "The Da Vinci Code," and twice a best actor Oscar winner, added that a shift in the way screenwriters were rewarded for their work was needed in the Internet age.
"The delivery systems, the revenue streams, just the very presentation media is now going to be a brand new place," he said in a brief interview on Thursday.
One of the key issues in the ongoing writers' dispute is how they will earn money when their work appears on the Internet.
Warner Bros has told about 1,000 television and film production workers that an unspecified number of layoffs will soon be announced due to the strike.

فعلاً أطراف كثيرة تضررت من جراء المقاطعة , صحيح إنه الكتاب لهم الحق الكامل بإنهم يحتجوا .. حقهم اللي ما أخذوه , لكن من ناحية أخرى لا بد إننا ما نظلم الاَخرين معاهم كونهم جزأ لا يتجزأ من قطاع صناعة الأفلام , والمقاطعة ظلمت حقوق ناس اَخرين بالفعل .

هو صح انه الكتاب متضررين من الي قاعد يصير , لكن لو فعلا تكنسل الأوسكار بتكون كارثة , أهم حدث تلفزيوني في أمريكا و بيكمل عامه الثمانين هالسنه و ماعمره تكنسل , أخرتها يجون الكتاب يلغونه ؟ المشكله انهم بيضرون ناس كثيرين تحت دائرة فوائد الأوسكار , مثلا شوف الفوائد شلون ارتفعت في السنوات الأخيره .
يعني جد حرام هالخسائر كلها , أتمنى جيتس يسوي الكلام الي قاله و انه الحفل يصير يصير حتى لو بدون الكتاب , بس المشكله فلسفة الممثلين و تضامنهم معاهم!
و الله مثل ما يقول بو كلوني , يبيلهم يتجمعون بغرفه وحده و ما يطلعون منها ابد الا لما يحلون المشكله .

إلغاء الأوسكار فكرة ( غبية ) .. كارثة , أصلاً فكرة إنه تأثير المقاطعة توصل إلى حد إلغاء مهرجان ضخم وسنوي مثل الأوسكار فكرة منافية للمنطق , مهرجانات الجوائز فرصة لإعطاء كل ذي حق حقه , كفاية إلغاء الجولدن جلوب واللي حرم كثيرين إنهم يتباهوا بتكريمهم اللي يستحقوه .
