Support for Xbox 360 games on PC effectively confirmed by dataminers
hackers and dataminers proved that official support for Xbox 360 games on PC exists.
Fun fact: The new OG Xbox Backwards Compatibility layer released by Microsoft for the PC is actually an Xbox 360 emulator running Xefu (the OG Xbox emu for the 360), confirmed by the XEX2/STFS magic and strings in the kernel such as “XENON KERNEL EXITING”. Crazy.
And, to prove that point, the team behind XWine1 (an unofficially developed Xbox One compatibility layer for PC) was able to combine the officially released Fission emulator on PC with a core component of their own work to get a few Xbox 360 games in the Backward Compatibility library running on PC.
By combining Microsoft's recently-released PC port of XeO3 with specific components of XWine1, SlimEra namely, it becomes possible to run dumped backwards-
ompatible Xbox 360 and Xbox Original games before they see an official PC release, with varying degrees of success
