BioWare تعلن عن MMO Starwars: The Old Republic

أخيرا بنحصل MMO مع قصة محترمة.

Before we began talking with the designers, we chatted with BioWare founders Ray Muzyka and Greg Zeschuck about the new project. Ray admits that they've "wanted to make an MMO for a decade" but were just looking for the right partner, the right developer and the right IP. Now they've found it in LucasArts, BioWare Austin and the Knights of the Old Republic setting.

The sense of scale, however, will make Star Wars: The Old Republic different from every other BioWare game. In response to community pressure to scrap this game and just make Knights of the Old Republic 3, the team suggests that there's enough content in Star Wars: The Old Republic to call it "Knights of the Old Republic 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9." At first hearing, it's easy to suspect that is just marketing hype, particularly since it was delivered to us more than a couple of times by more than a couple of different people. Nevertheless, it seems to be entirely accurate to claim that, in the team's words, this is "the biggest and most ridiculous BioWare game ever made."

مع اني كنت متوقع انها ما حتخرج عن اطار هذي السلسلة طالما ان الصفقة مع لوكاس ارتس

KOTOR كانت افضل من معظم ألعاب الار بي جي الجيل السابق و كان فيها العديد من عناصر العاب الـMMO. ما أقدر انتظر اشوف شو بيسوون مع هذي اللعبة.. ألعاب الـMMO تحتاج أحد يجي يطورها بدل الأسلوب المكرر اللي قمنا نشوفه في كل الاصدارات الحديثة تقريبا.

لكن أتوقع لو يشتغلون في هذي راح تكون رهيبه , خصوصا ً أن الأمريكيين يموتون على أي شي اسمه ستار وورز *_* !

To say that BioWare and EA are confident, would be an understatement, as they hope Star Wars: The Old Republic will become more popular than World of WarCraft.
Both EA and LucasArts have confirmed to VG247 that the target for BioWare’s newly announced Star Wars: The Old Republic is to make an MMO with a larger userbase than World or Warcraft.
“We have very high expectations for this,” said EA Games president Frank Gibeau, speaking this week at LucasArts’ HQ in San Francisco.

“Just look at the base of Star Wars fans, plus what BioWare can do. Trust me: we want to win. EA’s reputation is for wanting to win.
