Gearbox’s amazing looking RPG Shooter has been out of the spotlight for quite some time now, and for good reason. Behind closed doors Borderlands has gone with a completely new style, once a gritty looking shooter is now going to be sporting an interesting and visually striking cel-shaded style.
Borderlands Guide is reporting the stylistic shift straight from the Gearbox forums:Though there’s always the chance some people could be turned off by the style, it was decided that, overall, it fits the game and creates a more visually interesting experience. Our concept art had this incredible, distinctive style and feel that fit so perfectly - the game has not become less detailed or washed out at all.Sounds like Gearbox in my opinion made a good decision. Shooters these days are a dime-a-dozen full of brown and more brown, it would be nice to have a different artsy look to them. Going by the first image below it was an amazingly wise choice, as Borderlands is looking beautiful. I’m sure the new style will go a very long way in setting it apart from everything else out there this Fall
Rather, it retains the detail and style that’s often lost when we move from concept art to 3D. It stands out, and makes the gray-and-brown bleak landscapes, while still bleak and inhospitable, memorable and recognizable. The entire world has life to it, from the creatures to the very rocks and dirty walls.
بس شكلها القديم ما كان فيه أي شيء مميز بالنسبة لي.
