On Zune file formats: Zune will support your existing, unprotected, music library (MP3, AAC and WMA files), as well as video formats (WMV, H.264, MPEG4, 320x240), and JPG photo files.

Zune will play podcasts. I'm actually listenting to a podcast right now. If you bring the audio file into the software (like a wma or mp3 file), you can play it on your Zune. Beyond that, there will be other options for podcasting support for future releases.

You can access this music just like they would their regular music libraries – in Media Center’s “My Music” folder. This music will playback just like other songs in your library. Oh, and the Points you have in Xbox Live will transfer to Zune (you need the same passport). They're Microsoft Points.

errr, dude you're way off

i'm not saying that Zune is better, but you're so miss informed. the zune can read more codecs than the ipod, video and audio wise.

and why is wireless not so important? dude, you're just an apple fanatic.

more light is something i don't need, i need bigger screens though. the ipod's headphones are so cheap, when i raised the volume a couple of times it got damaged, now i here some noise coming when i max the volume.

بالنسبة لي شغلات زيادة...الأف أم والوايرليس
مع إني قريت بعدين وفهمت فايدة الوايرليس في نقل الملفات مع أصحابك لنفس الجهاز شئ ممتاز(هذا اللي عجبني فيه)
والشئ الثاني اللي عجبني ...حجم الشاشة جاي وايد(بالطول)..وكبيرة
وسالفة كوديك الفيديو ..حسب المواصفات الفرق الوحيد (كوديك مايكروسوفت WMV)
وهل أحد يستعملة!!!؟؟
بس أقدر أسغقني عنهم ...إذا كان اللي يهمني الحجم والجودة
وترى أنا كان عندي iPod وشفت الكريتف وغيره ..من تجربتي العملية وتجربة اللي أعرفهم

first of all, no one can argue that iPod is the best right now, i've tried Creative too, it's not as good as the iPod of course.

second, the price is not offecial, it's from a mag called TWIST, Microsoft hasn't announced anything yet. anyway, i don't a have problem paying 300$ for a system that can do more than just play videos and mp3s.

no one uses WMA? lol, ok

oh and that's just the beginning, it's the 1st gen for the Zune, wait 'til we see the 3rd or 4th, then we can talk about "who's really better"

بالنسبة للسماعات أنا معاك , لكن اشتريت سماعات جديدة معتمدة من شركة أبل للأيبود ماتتصور قد إيش ممتازة صغيرة وسهلة على الأذن, وجودتها نفس الجودة الأصلية, أنا أعاني من السماعات الأصلية لأن تصميمها كبير بالنسبة لأذني , فبتطيح كل شوي , لكن أنصحك تروح لمحل معتمد يبيع اكسسوارات أصلية للأيبود وبتحصلها انشالله...سعرها حوالي255 ريال سعودي..

٢- استخدام الكارتدج بدل السي دي (مما سبب لهروب الكثير من شركات الطرف الثالث... مثل سكوير)

thanks but i wasn't asking for a lecture in the gaming industry, i was just making a point that nothing is impossible,

ok let's see your points

1-i think the Zune looks cool enough
2-this one depends on the file itself it has nothing to do with the system
3-looks easy from that youtube video
4- plenty of new things, the new codecs, WiFi,Xbox connectivity, and a bigger screen
5-apple is already making a mistake by going from a generation to another without improving that much (the only major improvement was the video playback)

it's not necessary for the Zune to beat the ipod, Microsoft just wanna take their share of the market,

almost like an ipod? what do you want it to look like? a DS?or a PSP? cause there are standards for mp3 players

besides, the design doesn't look like an ipod (there's no "rewind/forward" buttons), the
shape does though. there is a big difference between those

في ناس يفكرون أن الـiPod هو أول أو أفضل MP3 player. في قبله كثير وفي أحسن منه كثير موجودين الحين. مليان مشاكل في البطاريات وفي تشغيل نوعيات الفيديو وفي نقل وسحب الأغاني.

في قبله كثير MP3 Players (مع أنهم فشلوا). وفي غيره ببطارية ممتازة وتشغيل لأي نوعية أغاني وأي نوعية فيديو (حتى DivX)، وبمساحة أكبر وبسعر أقل وبنقل معلومات سريع وسحب أغاني سهل.

الآيبود هو أنجح MP3 player بسهولة لأنه كون لنفسه سمعة ممتازة بالتسويق العبقري لآبل والتصميم الرائع بالإضافة لقوة iTunes وشراء الأغاني فيه. لكنه مو الأول ولا الأفضل.

عاجبتني ميزة الواي فاي في Zune، لكن الـsharing فيه غبي (3 أيام أو 3 تشغيلات). أبي شي غير محدود.
