Skip, Ltd, the team that previously brought Chibi-Robo and GiFTPiA to the GameCube has finally revealed a brand new Nintendo DS project in the form of Archime DS [ pronounced like 'Archimedes' - an intentional pun ].
The game is for two to four players and is due for release in the summer of 2007 at the cheap price of 2,100 Yen / £9. With just one DS card you can play with a maximum of four people on this laughing training software. It must be noted that this software cannot be played with just one person, therefore the aim is to encourage interaction between people. This is the game that Kenichi Nishi was talking about on his Rout24 blog, as reported earlier today, and will be published by Skip in Japan. The mystery of LOL DS seems to have been uncovered as Archime DS!
The product puts a new twist on the traditional Japanese game "Oogiri," with the leader posing a question or challenge that the players try to answer within a set time limit. Answers are revealed and everyone awards points to players with the best answers.
Since there are no rules or pre-defined questions, Archime-DS is an excellent tool to sharpen your wit, brush up your comedy skills and showcase your sense of humour. It is also a great way to get your creative juices flowing--use it as a group brainstorming tool for new ideas. And this is exactly why this is certainly not a single-player game!
Developed by Route24 and the Archime Development Group and published by SKIP, Ltd, you can expect more details in the near future, as the new issue of CONTINUE will have further information on 16th April...Also involved in the project is Sarugakucho, a team that has been involved in games like Meteos, Yoshi's Island DS, Odama, GiFTPiA and Chibi-Robo (hence the Skip link).
