BioWare, the creators of some amazing RPG's including the Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic franchise has announced today that they have begun work on a Massively-Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game (MMORPG). The game is being developed by its newly opened Austin, Texas studio. The Austin team will be headed up by James Ohlen whom happens to be BioWare's Creative Director. He has previously worked on Knights of the Old Republic, Neverwinter Nights, as well as Baldur's Gate.
According to the company, the new studio, called BioWare Austin, has "recruited some of the top talent in MMO and RPG development...to develop a game that combines the best of BioWare's great past games with a compelling persistent online experience."
Ray Muzyka, co-founder and Joint CEO of BioWare, stated that the company is "committed to a seamless collaboration between our two studios [BioWare Austin and BioWare Edmonton] to ensure the same high standards of quality and creativity our dedicated teams have always delivered."
No word on if he game will be a new franchise entirely or a variation of something already established. It should be interesting and exciting as the game should be announced in detail very soon!
