8.0 Presentation
Menu screens, scene recreation, and Shiny's attention to even the most minor of details are much appreciated. But the disjointed storytelling is not.
7.0 Graphics
There are impressive effects at work here (you name it, it's got it), but there are too many for its own good. The framerate is suffers because of that frequently and the models are just okay.
7.5 Sound
The splicing of movie dialogue and sound alikes works well enough and the soundtrack is pretty solid. Audio effects are equally strong, but strange glitches create frequent awkward silences.
7.5 Gameplay
The solid combat system with context-sensitive triggers is fun stuff and the AI progresses well. Camera and framerate issues do interfere, though, and pacing is up and down.
7.0 Lasting Appeal
A blooper reel, special power-up cheats, movie galleries, and a few other goodies make it worthwhile for the most part. But not being able to carry your powers over to past levels disappoints.

Standard Tony Hawk-like menus, one helluva story, and some wonky interfaces here and there.
7.0 Graphics
Good wardrobes and leathery faces, but awkward animations and motion capture. A few pretty sections of landscape dull ones.
8.0 Sound
Excellent voice acting and a perfect soundtrack. But? do these Apaches sound realistic or like total caricatures?
7.5 Gameplay
Loose controls and a giant bounding box are mostly fixed with QuickDraw and a flick-style targeting control. Lots of meaningless side missions and a few really good story-based ones.
7.5 Lasting Appeal
The game itself is about 10 hours. It's not long, but for an action game that's about par for the course. Thus, lots of side missions are left, but once the story is done, are the worth doing?

This is wrestling done right. Post-match celebrations, an excellent recreation of WWE programming, and some of the accurate ring walks around. THQ spared no expense this year.
9.0 Graphics
A higher polygon count, true 3D crowds, motion-captured animations, and dead-on facial recreations make for the best looking SmackDown ever (there are still collision problems, though).
7.5 Sound
The voice-overs this year are huge improvements compared to last time and the selection of music is more varied. Announcer commentary, on the other hand, is really, really bad.
8.5 Gameplay
Imagine the familiar SmackDown mechanics but add the strategy of a real momentum and stamina systems, while refining just about every other aspect of the game. That's SVR 2006.
9.5 Lasting Appeal
A much-improved online feature, the General Manager mode, a cinematic season option, a huge array of customizable segments, tons of bonus unlockables, and dozens of matches. 'Nuff said.
