First of all, the E72 has an optical trackpad, which should make scrolling and panning more intuitive. A 5MP autofocus camera with LED flash has been added, alongside a 3.5mm headset jack, while 3G connectivity was upgraded to HSDPA 10.2 Mbps and HSUPA 2.0 Mbps.
The new Eseries smartphone also lets users “set up instant messaging (IM) accounts provided by Nokia Messaging direct from the homescreen.”
Other features include Symbian S60 3rd Edition, a QVGA display, full QWERTY keyboard, A-GPS, Wi-Fi, document editor, 250MB of internal memory and MicroSDHC card support (up to 16GB).
The smartphone will be available in late Q3 2009 (September?), for an estimated retail price of €350 ($486).

Running on Symbian S60 5th Edition, Nokia 5530 XpressMusic only has quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE connectivity (850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz). The handset doesn’t have GPS, while its touchscreen display is a 2.9 inch one with 360 x 640 pixels.
Luckily, Nokia 5530 XpressMusic features Wi-Fi (and three months of free Internet access in select markets, from Boingo). It also comes with a 3.5mm headset jack, 3.15MP autofocus camera with LED flash, shortcuts to social networks like MySpace and Facebook, a 4GB card in the box, and the Nokia Stereo Headset WH-205.
A new software addition is the ‘people carousel’ – a contact bar that features “thumbnail images of up to 20 close friends and provides easy access to them and their communications history including emails, phone calls, photos or other social media updates.”
Nokia 5530 XpressMusic will be available starting the third quarter of 2009, retailing at only €199 ($276).
