ايواتا يرد على مطالبات اللاعبين بإلغاء الريجون لوك

A fan petition asking Nintendo to make the Wii U, 3DS and Wii region-free has gathered over 12,000 signatures recently, following Microsoft's Xbox One DRM u-turn.


Iwata had addressed the issue in a press interview recently.


"From some people's perspective, it might seem like a kind of restriction. However, we hope people can appreciate the fact that we're selling our products worldwide," Iwata told IGN during an interview at E3 in June.


"There are many different regions around the world, and each region has its own cultural acceptance and legal restrictions, as well as different age ratings. There are always things that we're required to do in each different region, which may go counter to the idea that players around the world want the freedom to play whatever they want," he went on.


"I hope that game fans can understand that the industry isn't doing this solely out of business ego," Iwata said. "There are some reasons behind it."


With Microsoft's complete reversal on its Xbox One DRM restrictions and PS4's previously confirmed region-free policy, Nintendo is now the only major console manufacture to employ regional restrictions on its current software.


This talk took place prior to Microsoft's DRM revision, but Iwata still failed to address why - despite regional differences - Sony has achieved regional freedom on PS3, PSP and PS Vita systems.

الالعاب ريجن فري مفيدة جدا للسوق تساعد الشركات في المبيعات الألعاب أكثر
مثلا انا عايش في لندن وبغيت لعبة قديمة ولقيتها في الأمازون امريكا, وقتها أعرف اللعبة ريجون لوك بجد راح تثير اعصابي ::
الشركات لازم تتعلم من سياسة سوني مع PS3 و الـPSP كل واحد فيهم ياخذ اي لعبة من اي دولة وهو مطن ان راح يشغلها

مرة أخرى لا تستمع ننتندو لما يريده جمهور الألعاب، ما شأن ريجن فري بالتقييدات العمرية؟ ألم يكن جهاز DS مفتوح الريجن؟، ألم تتقيد الشركة حينها بالشروط و الأعمار لكل منطقة؟، شيئ غريب، لا بد من أن تصبح الحملة أقوى و تشكل ضغط أكبر حتى ترضخ ننتندو
