[English] The film #ReturntoSILENTHILL was completed in January 2025.
During the Gérardmer International Fantastic Film Festival, held in February 2025, director Christophe Gans revealed in an interview with the French outlet Le Point that he had finished his new movie, inspired by the video game Silent Hill 2:
“I finished the film ten days ago. It’s an adaptation of the second game in the Silent Hill series, the fan favorite—and also the most complicated to adapt.”
The film was written during the lockdown and developed over the course of five years.
“It was shot in Serbia at the beginning of 2023. It was supposed to be completed by April 2024, but due to issues with the producers, it was finally finished in January 2025. It’s a German-British-Serbian co-production.”
Gans praised the young and dynamic production team, many of whom were fans of the original game. He also noted that he was the most senior member on set.
An official release date for Return to Silent Hill has yet to be announced.
