Members of the original Rare team who worked on Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie have taken to Twitter to test the waters about a possible successor to their popular Nintendo 64 titles.
A Twitter account named "Mingy Jongo" announced that some former Rare developers want to create the "spiritual successor" to Banjo-Tooie but they want to make sure there is still an audience and support for such a game. The account went live after the beginning of September and has since gained just over 4,000 followers.
The team behind the Twitter account say they intend to make a "3D platformer" that picks up where Banjo-Tooie left off featuring the same sense of humor and challenging gameplay that made the first games so memorable.
They clarified that it would not be a brand new Banjo game, which is impossible considering Rare owns the IP, but a brand new franchise in the same vein.
