Square Enix To Buyout Eidos
Full takeover of publisher set for beginning of May.

March 4, 2009 - It would appear that Lara Croft will soon be raiding tombs with Sephiroth and Sora. According to MCVUK this morning, Eidos reached an agreement resulting in the complete share capital of the company being purchased by Square Enix by early May. Shareholders will approve the deal at a meeting later this month, which will result in changes for Eidos stock: trading of the shares will be suspended on April 21 and share listings will be cancelled on April 22. A total settlement between the companies would potentially be completed by May 6, although that isn't definite.

No other terms of the deal were communicated in the story. We tried to contact both Square Enix and Eidos for comment, but did not receive any word from either company as of the publishing of this news. However, as soon as we get more details, we will make them available as quickly as possible.
