I have discovered that writing is not important as practicing English with someone else, because It'S useless especially when you don't know how it is his pronunciation, although if you know all his words.
If you try to enhance your communications you have to find an English speaker, else, you can practice behind a mirror, looking to yourself and imagining a conversation between you and someone else, or try to translate all your activities into English. Such as saying: I am going to eat, Get in the car, I ll play a game,
with a high and clear voice.

Always keep that in mind guys, you're not old to learn English and it's never too late.

I hope i'm not the only one finding it awkward to write English in an actual Arabic site lol, but I might as well.

A lot of people (be it friends, family, people who just met me in Dublin or whatever) ask me how I managed to learn English so well and why I'm so good at it, not to flaunt or anything, but yeah.. I never tell them the full answer honestly, but I'll share it here because I think everyone in true gaming can relate to the same reasons.

The first obviously would be playing video games from an early age, being introduced to games through my brothers. I wouldn't really understand sentences or words but I'd often at least understand the context and that helps. The other big reason, probably the biggest, was me playing an MMO at the age of about 12 (6th grade), I spent A LOT of time on that MMO and of course I had to speak English all the time there so I was forced to use it. I also participated in said MMO's forum a lot too so I had to write proper English there and I would be corrected on mistakes sometimes by grammar nazis.

I played a lot of MMOs after that, one where I put a lot of time into as well, but that was the biggest one.

After that, I started playing Pokemon and kinda getting obsessed with it and discovered smogon, another forum that I went to and was extremely active in (still am), and I had to use proper English there, and the majority of the users are mature so I'd often be corrected or at least called out on mistakes.

I also liked Zelda (the games) a lot and hence I was active in a Zelda fansite and forum, I think that was probably the biggest factor as the forum had a very tight knit community that luckily accepted me quickly and helped me A LOT with grammar mistakes. The forum is kinda dead now but I'm still in touch with most of the then-active members through skype in a skype group and I actually still ask them for help with grammar/English stuff in general because they're native speakers and know the language quite well compared to others.

Other than that, school has helped a lot (surprisingly) with a bit of grammar and vocabulary too. I also went abroad to the UK for a month 2 years ago where I had to depend on myself and my English a lot so that gave me a huge boost in confidence and it actually was when I realized I shouldn't be so worried about my speaking skills.

And, of course, I had a big interest in watching foreign (mostly american) shows and movies with Arabic subtitles, so I picked up a lot of vocabulary from there as well. Same goes for songs. Was never interested in Arabic literature to be honest.

So.. in short, basically it was using the language a lot by playing games/communicating with other people who plays games, being corrected, using English on a daily basis (hell, on an hourly basis) on the internet, and watching English TV shows/movies and listening to English songs.. that's how I taught myself English for the most part, with a bit of help from school.. I also read a few books here and there :)

tldr
just kidding
your right video games , moives and tv shows might be a really good way to learn english specially speaking skills but i remember my prof (i'm not sure if the person who told me that was a prof in the university or the teacher in the high-school but it's not really necessary to know )he told me that the entertainment is not going to teach you how to write or read , so it's really important to focus in the school or the uni
i remember when i was in fundtion year i had a book , the book was about computer science /engineering English and it was really hard because no one using these words in public
i remember trying to read one of the paragraphs in the book and i swear to god i didn't have not a single clue what the paragraph was about

مغزى الاختبار يحصي عدد كلماتك سواء تستخدمها او لا. الصف الليسر كلمات نسمعها يوميا و الثاني كلمات تصنف لذوي المستوى المتوسط و الاخيرة للي مستواهم عالي طبعا.

انا ماعرفت ولا كلمة من الصف الايمن نهائيا.

I corrected your mistakes you're doing great but i wanted to help you improve more , and for the speaking skills as I suggested before talk to the mirror, on my first year at college sometimes I used to write my thoughts on my note then recite it loudly because my teacher took notice of how I always shy away from participating and kept asking me questions
as for the Scottish accent actually I can't tell the difference between accents ,so it sound more British to me
I have discovered that writing is not important as practicing English with someone else, because It'S useless especially when you can't tell how is his pronunciation, even though you know all of his words.

I tried to correct your mistakes and I made a few adjustments to your sentences because i didn't get what you meant at first =)
but writing in general is really important not useless at all ,because when you write you put your vocabularies and grammars in use so thoughts come naturally when you speaking

Here's another method to expand your vocabulary.

If you playing a game, watching a movie or TV show with an english subtitles, or even reading an english book, and saw a new word then you should write it an notebook or in your smart phone so you can translate it later.

That's what i did this year with a few games, for example

Hello everyone in the TG ..

Hello everyone in the [TG is a name. Drop "the"] TG ..

To be honest.. Before 9 months or more , I was hating [I hated ] the English[ the English=British people. You better say English people to make your writing clear] and I fool [fooled. it occurred in the past] my self and said :
" Why Should I learn the كفار Language "
" meh, the worst language lecture is coming " ...

Then, I thought : Don't be stupid, Salman!
English it's [is. Drop this pronoun here] a great language , you should push yourself to learn it..
Don't allow yourself to feel bored ..
You want to be careful in the University? Then you must learn the " universe [universal. Use an adjective before a noun] language " ..

So, I decided to take a self-course on english .. But I think [ thought. Remember, you are in the past ] : "O Salman, u r the first one know you will leavs [ leave. Do not use the third person singular here! ] this challenge, and you know why ! " This sentence does not make any sense. Be clear. You should say "You are going to be the first one to leave this challenge"
" hmmmmmm "
" Why you didn't try [why don't you try] a fun [ funny. use an adjective here. It could be funnier too ] way to learn ? "
" F.. Fun [the same mistake above] way ? "
" yah man .. Why don't you play some video games and learn from it [them] .. Just do it! "

Thank goodness [Do not use it. Just write God with a capital letter] .. It's a good idea !
@ExtraMHD recommend [Recommended me] me to play Ace Attorney Trilogy .. It was a great advice if you think about it ..
Ace Attorney : [ Use an article here. A] Visual Novel [ Better add game here ], Depends on "Understand [ing] the [a] story" .. and .. It's a game .. Video game !!

لان اسلوبك حلو بالكتابة. انا قبل سنتين مستحيل اكتب زي كذا. بكل بساطة اذا كنت تكتب بالماضي لا تتحول بشكل مفاجئ للحاظر و استمر عليه الين توصل لنقطة تتكلم فيها عن الحاظر. مثلا لو كنت تتكلم عن الماضي لا تستخدم think, shall, can بل thought, should, could.

و خطأك الثاني عدم التفرقة بين الادجكتف و الناون و الادفيرب.

بكل بساطة هيكلة الكتالة كذا من اليسار لليمين

Advective => noun
Adverb => verb
Adverb => adjective

حطها بنوته و ادرسها يوم واحد و اضمن لك مستواك بيتقدم مراحل ضوئية بيوم واحد اذا فهمت الهيكلة.

يبقى السؤال
المعضلة لدى العرب، كيف افرق بين الناون و الفيرب و الادفيرب و الادجكتف؟

الناون الاسم : piano, Matt, police, dog الخ
الفيرب هو الفعل: play, kill, meet, eat الخ

Adjective vs. Adverb
شوف هالقائمة بفروق الادجكتف و الادفيرب
