اليوم في معرض CEATEC باليابان قامت شركة متسوبيشي كاجاكو و بايونير بالاعلان عن
طريقة تمكنهم من انتاج اقراص البلو-ري بتكلفة اقل وذالك باستخدام مواد عضوية ,
يتوقع انتاجها ببداية العام المقبل .
Announced at CEATEC today, Mitsubishi Kagaku Media and Pioneer have taken another step forward for Blu-ray disc technology. They have found a way to develop the BR-D discs using organic materials, which should cut the costs down for them. While this development comes a year after HD DVD, it will probably have a bigger impact than people realize.
The companies said that they will not commercialize it until the end of 2007, or beginning of 2008. This could help push the Blu-ray camp into higher gear. Along with the announcement came the good news that they can now burn them at 2x, and they are working on 4x with multiple layers.
