SEGA Set To Release Bleach On Wii And DS
SEGA Europe and SEGA of America today announced that Bleach(TM): Shattered Blade will be available on the Wii(TM) video game system from Nintendo and that Bleach(TM): The Blade of Fate will be released on the Nintendo DS(TM) portable handheld system.
Based on the forthcoming and eagerly awaited BLEACH animated series, Bleach: Shattered Blade and Bleach: The Blade of Fate offer relentless action and dazzling swordplay with crisp, stylised graphics that deliver an authentic anime experience. Both versions feature a strong cast of characters voiced by the actors from VIZ Media's award-winning BLEACH anime. The TV show is scheduled to air across Europe later this year. With a lively cast of over 20 characters, including Rukia, Kon and hero Ichigo, gamers will spend hours furiously fighting and unlocking individual character stories, all based on the animated series' story arc.
Bleach: Shattered Blade for Wii and Bleach: The Blade of Fate on DS will be released across Europe in early 2008.
The Bleach storyline follows 15-year-old Ichigo Kurosaki who has the power to see spirits from the afterlife, including warriors known as Soul Reapers. The Soul Reapers are tasked with defending humans from otherworldly beings called Hollows. One fateful day, Ichigo meets Rukia, a Soul Reaper who lends him her powers after she's injured by a Hollow. In the game, players will progress through an exciting storyline facing increasingly difficult opponents in their quest to uncover the truth.
"The content of the Bleach story lends itself perfectly to an action-packed arcade fighting game with a heavy dose of mighty sword battles," says Gary Knight, European Marketing Director, SEGA Europe. "Both the flexibility of the Wii and the portability of the DS have allowed us to bring the intense action of Bleach to a wide variety of gamers and make a great companion to the awesome forthcoming TV series."

Bleach: Shattered Blade for the Wii enables players to wield the Wii Remote(TM) and Nunchuk as their weapons - slashing, jabbing, and lunging in furious battles like a real Soul Reaper. Bleach: Shattered Blade offers an exclusive storyline created specifically for the Wii with 32 characters to choose from. Once a new character is unlocked, players can replay the story episodes utilising the character's special moves and weapons, adding a whole new perspective to the storyline.
On the Wii, players will be able to inflict enormous damage on opponents with powerful weapons and super power-attacks taken straight from the TV series. Characters can summon supernatural allies such as a giant serpent, a samurai titan or a tidal wave for battle support. Players can also square-off against their friends in high-speed multiplayer combat in 3D arenas and environments based on settings from the series.
On the Nintendo DS, Bleach: The Blade of Fate offers striking 2D action and brilliant visuals that have become the hallmark of Treasure, the game's legendary development team. Players will face a variety of opponents as one of 28 highly-stylised characters in intense action-packed battles based on the animated series. Bleach: The Blade of Fate on the Nintendo DS brings a twist to the traditional 2D fighting game with a new kind of battle system that enables players to move between upper and lower split-plane battle arenas to chase after or escape from opponents.
Bleach: The Blade of Fate for the DS also allows gamers to build Spirit Card Decks to strategically access power-ups and power-downs to perform special attacks, cast healing spells on themselves, displace opponents, or prohibit them from using their own Spirit Cards. Additionally, gamers can take to the streets battling against enemies in fast-paced combat via the Nintendo DS' Wi-Fi capabilities.

Chris Taylor’s Gas Powered Games and SEGA Team Up to Create a Spiritual Successor to the Critically Acclaimed Dungeon Siege Series for the PC
SAN FRANCISCO & LONDON (July 6, 2007) – SEGA® of America, Inc. and SEGA® Europe Ltd. today announced the development of Space Siege™ for the PC. Developed by Gas Powered Games, SEGA has tapped Chris Taylor’s creative prowess to create this engaging action-RPG title. Space Siege features a deep and compelling storyline, intense combat and a dynamic character development system. Space Siege is scheduled to ship for the PC in North America and Europe in Q1 of 2008.
Space Siege takes place in the confines of the Armstrong, one of the few remaining colonization ships carrying the last bastions of human civilization after a devastating attack on Earth from an unknown alien race. Players will take the role of Seth Walker, a cybernetics engineer suddenly thrust into a struggle to save humanity from extermination. As the adventure progresses Seth is offered opportunities to sacrifice pieces of his humanity for cybernetic upgrades that will assist him in his mission to preserve the human race. But what price will he pay to save his own humanity? Only the player can decide Seth’s ultimate fate.

Incorporating innovative cybernetic augmentations into its storyline, Space Siege explores the dilemmas faced while keeping one’s humanity in the face of adversity. Cybernetic augmentations can be performed on every part of Seth’s body. On the extreme end, players will be able to outfit Seth with cybernetic upgrades that will leave little or none of his original humanity intact. But this choice comes with the risk of alienating Seth from the people he’s trying to save. Players can also insist on preserving Seth’s humanity by not using upgrades, instead forging ahead clearing the Armstrong of its alien invaders with natural human ingenuity and strength. Such a decision will increase the difficulty of completing his mission of uncovering and eliminating the alien menace that’s bent on destroying the human race.
Space Siege features a dynamic storyline based upon the decisions the player makes throughout the course of the game. Based upon the cybernetic modifications the player chooses to make on Seth’s body, NPC’s will react and interact with the player differently and, ultimately, different story resolutions will be reached. Space Siege will feature a separate immersive co-op multiplayer mode allowing up to four players to create and experience a completely unique mission structure.

Premier Fighting Game Franchise Goes Online In Europe and North America
SAN FRANCISCO & LONDON (July 6, 2007) – SEGA® of America, Inc. and SEGA® Europe, Ltd. announced today that the highly-anticipated arcade fighting game, Virtua Fighter™ 5 for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system, will feature an online versus mode at launch in fall 2007. The Microsoft Xbox 360™ version of Virtua Fighter™ 5 is based on the latest arcade version update and features both analog stick and D-pad control, as well as vibration support. The game also includes an improved Quest mode featuring more CPU rivals, items, and emblems for character customization. The DOJO mode has added features including leaderboards, training move settings, improved throw escape training, and the option to change your opponent’s position and recovery type. These all work to create a more refined DOJO mode where players can improve their fighting strategy.
Now featuring an online two-player versus mode via Xbox Live®, Virtua Fighter™ 5 will allow Virtua Fighter™ players to compete online. Players will also be able to select one of the 17 characters or customize a character in Quest mode. Customization features allow players to modify their characters by decorating a selection from four base costumes by attaching a wide range of unlockable and earnable items. Players will not only achieve victory by defeating highly-skilled opponents, but also by competing for prizes and earning in-game money which allow them to buy many items at an in-game shop.
