TOKYO--Microsoft has begun a recruitment campaign for Xbox 360 beta testers in Japan. While the move is hardly novel, some are attributing the aggressive pitch (posted on the Xbox Japan Web site) as evidence of Microsoft's commitment to the new hardware. Sales figures in the country show that Japanese gamers uniformly rejected the current Xbox model, as well as its paltry lineup of titles that failed to appeal to that market's role-playing-prone players.
